7 Habbits of a Highly effective People

Overcoming challenges and achieving the peak of your goals are the two things any remote worker or freelancer face each day. How one responds to these lies in the principle of harnessing skills, creativity, and drive in making sure that any endeavor is more than done.

Habit 1: Be Passionate
Even without an ivy league education, the most successful people in the industry are simply those who are passionate in what they do. If you have a deep love for your craft, there’s absolutely 110% chance of you doing the extraordinary. Don’t be money-driven, but have that ultimate pride in what you do best. Do you know what you’re passionate about? Follow this calling! It won’t let you down.
Habit 2: Learn
Passion will not give you any results if you don’t learn ways to make your dream come true. Highly effective freelancers know that they have a constant need for change and improvement, that there will always be others who are more knowledgeable. Learn from your own experiences and mistakes. Unlearn those that didn’t work and re-learn new things that will help you solve issues.
Habit 3: Communicate and Collaborate
Working remotely doesn’t mean you have to shut yourself down and do it alone. Have a frequent and regular communication with your clients or team. Even a few minutes of small talk can inspire great ideas. Also, don’t hesitate to ask for help. Collaborate with everyone and keep them updated too. Who says that you can’t have teamwork in cyber space?
Habit 4: Take the Initiative
Don’t just sit there staring in front of your PC, hoping that an interview invite will pop in your inbox. Instead, take the initiative to find freelance and remote work opportunities out there. Make that Pitch! Who can ever imagine that someone tweeting why twitter should hire him has indeed landed a job with Twitter? Learn the art of selling yourself and don’t ever sell yourself short.
Habit 5: Focus on Quality
Highly effective freelancers know that putting more value to their work means better results. Quality is the very thin line that defines those who excel in their fields and those who don’t. Avoid those bang-for-the-buck deals and focus on giving the best efforts to produce extraordinary results. The payoff is a more than satisfied service buyer who will not only rehire you for future projects, but who will spread the word about you as well.
Habit 6: Have the Courage to Say NO
Over-commitment to a project is fine, as long as it doesn’t eat away your personal life. There is nothing wrong in looking for opportunities that will enhance your work portfolio. Don’t just overdo it. Be realistic with what you can really do and how much time you plan to invest doing it. The last thing you want is being burned out, on top of irate clients who are dismayed at your work.
Habit 7: Be a Leader
Even if you’re a member of a team, show leadership in everything that you do. This means being pro active and truly listening to what the clients want. This will help you manage your time properly, helping you craft the perfect solutions for the job. Shine in the limelight with your leadership skills and for sure, clients will really take notice.

In the end, being a highly effective freelancer is simply going the extra mile – in everything you do for yourself and for others. Ajeva can only help you with the right tools, technology, collaboration, and guidance to help jump start your career, but you are the one who will set your standards high: Will you be just another face in the crowd?
